This discussion is on Sandgar's ban, and what its status should be. Due to other recent bans, and community out cry. This discussion is deemed necessary, and shall be binding in its judgement. In this discussion. There will be no tolerance for uncivil things. Any uncivil posts will be deleted, or edited if its a vote.
First of all, we will discuss the community's reasons for needing this discussion.
The community has brought to my attention the fact that the ban was unfair. They however did agree a ban was necessary, but the length was too long in most opinions. Many felt a shorter ban would have been more reasonable, and effective. Many also felt that their opinions were being supressed immediatly after the ban was issue. Others in the community also told me about how Sandgar acted as a person who they could talk to about anything, and help them through their problems, and many of his former clients are extremely depressed, and suicidal from what many users are telling me.
The second reason for this discussion is due to recent bans that raise questions on how fair Sandgar's ban was. Kittencyat as we all may know has been banned three times, including her current ban of one month. Sandgar was also on his third ban on this issue, but his ban was much longer, and more severe. Sandgar's ban was for agressivness to an admin, ignoring warnings, threatening behavior and misconduct in chat. Kittencyat was banned due to misconduct in chat, multiple death threats, ignoring warnings from multiple mods, bullying, being underaged, trolling, spamming, making users uncomfortable, bullying, and much more, some of which breaks ToU. Her ban was very soft for the rules she broke, while Sandgar gets a harsh sentence for minor bullying and some harsh words, which she also has done. In the logic of the ban. Being rude to an admin gets you a longer sentence then death threats will give you. To put it in another perspective. Sandgar's three bans are in this order: 2 hours, 2 weeks and, 3 months. kittencyat's bans are this: 2 hours, 2 weeks, 1 month. As you may be able to see. Sandgar's ban was 6 times longer then his previous ban, while Kittencyat's ban was only four times longer from her previous ban or only 1/3 of Sandgar's ban.
The third reason for this discussion is that several members of the community think that the admins can not make an unbiased decision. Lets face it. Sandgar has angered most of the admins in various ways, and they may have developed grudges against him. This ban was actually the lowest they were willing to go. It was originally going to be infinite, but was moved down. The community may also be bias too, but it also has unbiased people in there, and others who will be able to vote for what they think is the best for the community.
In this discussion we would like all users who have 50 edits or more to give a vote on the status of Sandgar's ban. There are four options which are:
Option 1, Sandgar's ban should not change
Option 2, Sandgar's ban should be lowered but not ended
Option 3,Sandgar's ban should be raised
Option 4,Sandgar's ban should be ended
These options should be included in your comment on this discussion. Admin are recomended to discuss, but please note that this is a discussion that should be held, and closing it would be bad for the community in whole.
