The traveler is an unseen visitor who stumbles upon the Mystery Shack one dark and stormy night.
History[]
In "Little Gift Shop of Horrors," the weary traveler approaches the Mystery Shack for shelter after traveling along the road. They are greeted by Grunkle Stan, who tells them stories in an attempt to sell his cheap merchandise. When Stan is unsuccessful, he drugs and captures the traveler and presents them as an attraction known as "The Cheapskate."
Appearance[]
The traveler is purposefully made as ambiguous as possible so the viewer can stand in their place, as the episode is told from their perspective. Only their hands and arms are ever shown, and they lack any distinguishing characteristics, barring the fact the hands have five fingers each and their skin color is white.

- In the original twist ending of the episode, the visiting tourist was supposed to be revealed to be director M. Night Shyamalan.[1]
