- Support — They say these words, for example, on the Steven Universe chat. It's not like Steven Universe has any more severe language than Gravity Falls does. Also, I would like to point out that one of the chat rules is to assume that everyone is 13. Well, PG-13 movies regularly use these words, so this would be in line with the existing rules.
I would also like to point out that, while never used in the actual show, "hell" is used on search for the blindeye webpage, something for which we have a page. If we're restricting the use of these words, that comes in conflict if we were to quote that passage or anything.
Also, the enforcement can be a little uneven sometimes, just depending on the moderator. I've been told not to swear after saying "wth" (which by the way can mean "what the heck", "what the horseradish", or whatever the hotdogs I want it to mean). If we allow these "swear" words, which are generally accepted in conversation, this will alleviate confusion.
Let me start of by saying that this isn't trying to be for or against this voting thread, just why using acronyms like that is stupid. While you could argue WTH could stand for anything with those letters in that order, it has ONE universally known and defined meaning. A few months ago we had a cyberbully come on just to tell a user going through a hard time to KYS (kill yourself) all over the place here, well until we banned them. They said KYS stood for kiss your socks or something, but the intent was obviously not that. While this is a much more extreme example, that's why we don't allow acronyms that break rules when using thier most universally known meaning.
