      Who the hell is Stanford?

      Will they ever find Trigger?

Why didn't Stan tell them about the portal sooner if all it did was bring his brother back?

      What is the Author's name?

Can Gravity Falls still be considered a kids show?

Will Dipper ever get to read the first two books?

Wouldn't the Pines twins parents know Stan was dead? It was classified and all, but they're family, wouldn't they be told?

      Why was Stan's death classified?

What happened 30 years prior to the show?

Well the show end at the end of summer, or will it be sooner, or maybe even later?

And also, Soos wants to be legally adopted by Stan, a little creepy.

Emotional on Mabel's part, the fate of the universe rested in her hands, and she risked the fate of the universe just to prove Stan was innocent. Mabel trusts Stan more than Soos does.

    • 30 years before 2012, Stan Pines died. In 2012, his brother used a time portal to bring him back.

Also, just saying, why didn't Mabel press the button? After all, people didn't know that the Mayans were wrong about the end of the world back then.

IKR, they would have known that Stan had died because he's family, and they'd probably also know that there's an imposter posing as him. There's no explanation other than one I can think of. He was a friend of the family, and I only say this because of this quote from Stan "Everything I do is for this family." And even then, is he referring to the Pines family, or the Mystery Shack family? Or are we just reading to much in depth in a show created for children?

Also, why did the Author only take Journal One? I found it kind of strange that he didn't say anything, or take the second journal.

No, pretty sure Pacifica is the llama, and Blubs' glasses were a different shape as well. The only thing we know for sure is that the glasses had to belong to someone Stan cared about as he was seen cleaning them in "Carpet Diem".

    • I do admit that I didn't believe the theory because it sounded like a bit of a cop out. it was like "the author studied gravity falls for 30 years but the character isn't seen in the town or appeared in any episodes" but now I am reflecting the moral of irrational treasure which is saying that silliness is more positive than negative and how we need silliness (similar to how I thought the theory was silly until it became canon).

Allthough I will bring this up the triangle symbol theory actually connected Stans hat, the glasses and the book together (draw a triangle on the symbol wheel and it connects the symbols after rotation but it has to start at shooting star, pine tree and question mark).

on the bright side all the symbols on the cypher wheel are now confirmed.

Not really, Stan's brother is either the six fingered hand or the glasses, he can't be both. I'm betting six fingers, and if not...whose glasses WERE they?

Somebody said Macgucket earlier, and while I disagreed at first there's no saying he wouldn't take that pair for his own pair of reading glasses later.

    • I was honestly surprised. I didn't expect the twin brother theory was going to be a thing, I thought it far fetched though it would have been intriguing. Kind of how I couldn't believe the Dipper and Pacifica thing being possible until Northwest Mansion Noir. Seems the Gravity Falls creators are good like that, and I am interested, now that they made this official, in what ways Stan's brother is going to fit into Gravity Falls...I bet it is going to make things a lot more interesting and dangerous...I sense an appearance by bill and more Government Agents at some point in time...but it is weird, didn't Stan's brother when coming out of the portal seems like he was coming from a different perhaps dimension or time? It looked more futuristic and his clothing was clearly more combative...wonder how that works? Did he somehow get stuck in the future? Is it an alternate dimension and his brother with the whole newspaper thing had actually died but Stanford refused and worked all his life to bring him back? Perhaps we will never know. But I do think Gravity Falls is going to be much more intersting from this point forward.

    • I think Stanley Pines faked his own death, and took on the identity of his twin brother...Stanford Pines a.k.a. the author. Were there parents TRYING to get them picked on with those names?

I agree with this theory but I'd like to add a bit more

Stanley faked his death due to his constant research on the creatures and soon fears that his family will be put at risk because of this, he created the portal in order to go into hiding or to preform further research on the creatures. He hid the journals in order to protect the family. He cut the brakes on his car and caused it to crash in order to ensure that he won't be hunted by the government or other creatures however Stan found the first journal and he discovered that his brother is the author and made the machine in order to find him.

I'd like to think that the next episode might be released during April either early April or mid April.

And I'll tell you what most likely has happened; one clever little voice has looked into things (or who knows, even one of the GF staff could be hinting) more deeply and it became much more popular. I honestly never knew or believed about the Stanley Theory.

Alex Hirsch wouldn't fanservice. He said it before, he was looking for quality into his show. Fan service isn't somthing that would bring quality.

Maybe you were joking around, but I'll keep my guard up for here. You just got to deal with it, it's not like it's impossible for theories to become true; and there's also been several subtle and clever hints too. And also, MANY people did get stumped on the episode, just look on tumblr and youtube.

On the extra note, the people who theorize on GF are undoubtedly SMART. They were built for things like this, and they should proudly give themselves a pat on the back tonight.

The theory is that stanley switched bodies with the real stan that supposedly "died" in 1982 to take care of the twins for the summer while trying to get his brother back

btw-stanley is the smart one so he would know how to work the portal and stuff like that.

    • How do you think the rest of the season plays out? Stan is still searched for by FBI, Shack is destroyed, as is some part of the city, and there is Stan's brother thing. It's unlikely they will spend the rest of episodes on the run, but I also don't see how they would ever return to the standard formula.

And in "The Society of The Blind Eye" McGucket was working with The Author, Not McGucket being one. He even made a Triangle Eye hinting Bill Cipher.

But anyways the Episode was awesome and it speculates that It was Stan's Brother beinig the Author. Hopefully in later episodes we will see the complete page. I know the top one from 'Northwest Mansion Mystery' does have a pic of Stan's Fez.

^OMFG. That's crazy!! I just thought that Stan faked his death so that noone could find him or something. I never thought that Stan actually died and was brought back. That's a great theory.

So, I'm confused. Is there a page missing in the journal? Because it clearly said that if the machine wasn't turned off that the universe would be destroyed, but then the machine activated and nothing was harmed. So did I miss something? Because I am very confused.

    • Okie, here are a couple of weird thoughts:

      1. Here us how I think Stanley aka the author got into the portal: Him, Stan and Fiddleford were done working on the portal, so Stanley was brave enough to test it.  Fiddleford warned him it was unstable and he went in anyway, but when he did the thing randomly started to malfunction right after he went in. They tried to save him but it like half self-destroyed and it turned off, so basically they thought he was gone forever.  After that Stan never wanted anything to do with Fiddleford(he blamed him) and stormed off. Yay.

      2. Ik this is a popular theory but I think that there was a whole line of "Mystery Twins" that were destined to save the world or something, and Dipper and Mabel are next DUN DUN DUUUUUUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And if they fail they will perish and the whole world will be ruled by Bill lol. EVERYONE WILL BE DEMONZ <3

      There you have it :3
