This Is Not A Website Dot Com, also known as ThisIsNotAWebsiteDotCom.com, is a tie-in website released alongside The Book of Bill on July 23, 2024.[note 1]
The website's address can be found at the bottom of page 16 in The Book of Bill next to a copyright notice.[1] Initially, upon entering the site, users were greeted by a black login screen and a triangle icon above it. Additionally, the page's title is a triangle symbol "△", and an eye emoji as its favicon "👁️".
The password for the page can be discovered in Question #7[note 2] from "The One True Intelligence Test". By stretching the provided square graphic of what seemingly is random lines, and turning it upside down, a message is revealed reading, "Need a password? Fine, I'll talk."[1] Tilting the book to the right reveals another message reading, "It's the name of the eyeball doc." This refers to T.J. Eckleburg, an optometrist from The Great Gatsby who is mentioned in a passage from that book included as "required reading" in The Book of Bill.
Entering the password "T.J Eckleburg" revealed a popup on an aged piece of parchment paper, displaying a countdown from the website's discovery until 12 PM UTC -8 on July 30, 2024. On the paper is a pictogram of Bill Cipher as well as a cryptogram in Bill's symbol substitution cipher reading "" which decodes to "LOST FILES". Alongside, there were two coffee mug stains, which are a part of a different code throughout multiple coffee mug stains in the book. The stains of these two stains decode to "SION" and "CALE". Now, typing that name into the computer pops up a screen saying: Don't mention that name again. Try it.
Technical difficulties[]
After the countdown, the page was renamed to "TIME IS DEAD AND MEANING HAS NO MEANING" and the countdown text itself was changed to the word "NOW". Upon refreshing the page, it turned into an "under construction" screen featuring Soos trying to fix some wires. The countdown was also counting down to the negatives from 12 PM UTC -8 on July 30, 2024. By default, Soos displays a speech bubble reading, "Oops, the Mystery Shack is currently experiencing some delays dude! Please bare with us as we figure out which wire goes where!"
Alex Hirsch confirmed that the page is not a part of the ARG and is simply just a proper technical difficulties page.
Speech bubble options[]
The default speech bubble that appears upon logging into the site after July 30, 2024.
Clicking Soos' upper body changed the text in the speech bubble to one of the following options:
Oops, the Mystery Shack is currently experiencing some delays dude! Please bare with us as we figure out which wire goes where!
Lets see... the blue wire is connected to the....hip bone....
So what I wanna know is, why are cryptic riddles always written down on tattered yellowed parchment. Get some normal paper dude!
Still comin, dudes! In the meantime, please enjoy this fine literature while you wait. People are saying its the book of the summer![note 3]
In the meantime, experience some soothing tunes while you wait. They drown out the rage, dude![note 4]
I tried to explain to Mr Pines how to open a PDF one time. He got so angry and confused that he punched through my Funko shelf! Many brave Funkos were lost that day…
My favorite Otter Pop is Sir Isaac Lime. But Louie Bloo is pretty cool too. Which is your favorite Otter Pop? Sound off in chat![note 5]
If the ICEE bear was real, I wonder if he would be my friend…[note 6]
Hopefully nobody was expecting anything too crazy, heh heh!
Hey dude, did you know that computers are filled with ghouls? That's a fact.
I'M gonna watch YOU. You're the website now, dude!
To quote a great man, “everythings gonna be alright...rockabye”[note 7]
I wonder if its possible to taste your own tongue. I'm gonna get to the bottom of this, dude!
Boy that counter is MESSED UP. I guess we'll be ready when it finally reaches the bottom of....math?
Man, I tried to look at that Bill Book and it was just a bunch of static and the words “HE'S UNCORRUPTABLE.” Whats that mean? Beats me, dawg!
Are you Blanchin? Girl we blanchin! I live up in a- dang, still in my head![note 8]
If I can't get this fixed, this WILL be the Final Countdown, dudes![note 9]
Ugh man did you see the new Swordbirth: Rise of the Swordians: Age of Swords DLC just got delayed AGAIN? Don't they understand, as a consumer, my time is valuable!? ... I wonder if I could make a hat small enough to fit on a bird.[note 10]
Soos possessed by Bill Cipher, along with a cryptic message.
Clicking Soos's upper body enough times had a random chance of yielding a Bill-possessed Soos, and an encoded message reading "! ! !" (translates to "SO! MANY! QUESTIONS!"[note 11]). The text is not encoded in a familiar cipher from the series, but rather in the font 1651 Alchemy Symbols by GLC.[2] This font is also used a few times as a cipher in The Book of Bill.

Fixed countdown[]
On August 9th, 2024 around 19:00 UTC Soos finished fixing the site. Upon entering the password one of two images appear and a variety of new phrases that were shared between both pictures, and a countdown leading to 20:30 UTC the same day. The first phrases said would always be, in order:
SOLVED! Time to ask Mr Pines for a raise!
Wait...I run the Mystery Shack now. I'm gonna give myself a raise!
Have infinite dollars, Soos! Thanks Soos!
And clicking Soos subsequent times returned to a new randomized set of phrases:
Man I'm hungry. Resisting...urge...to gnaw... on wires...
Phew, I hope no one noticed how long that took!
I'm not just a handy man, I'm the HANDIEST man.
Boy, I could really go for eating some honey out of a clay pot with my bare hands right now.
Now that I've fixed these wires, it's time to fix....America.
I've earned a break! Time to finally download that app Mabel's always telling me about, “Tik Tok.” I wonder if anyone's even heard of Gravity Falls on there!
One time, my cousin Reggie tried to make a website and he accidentally like shut down the entire power grid of South Dakota. He's so good at computers dude :D
Desk[]
As of the completion of the last countdown, the new version of the website is an interactive scene of a desk facing a window looking out of the Mystery Shack. There are several objects like a copy of The Book Of Bill, a candle, a knife in the book, a pyramid light prism, a flask with an eyeball in it, and most importantly the computer.
Objects[]
Clicking on the objects around the computer shows different images.
Clicking on The Book of Bill displays a letter written by Stanford to Dipper about experimenting on said book. Decoding the code at the bottom of the last page says "AD ASTRA PER ASPERA" which translates in Latin to "THROUGH HARDSHIPS TO THE STARS".
Clicking on the bolster of the dagger impaling The Book of Bill reveals an ad about a machine called The Cipheropticon.
Clicking on the gold tooth of the skull reveals a "Get Out Of Death Free" card.
Clicking on the "McGUCKET LABS" label on top of the computer reveals a letter written by McGucket.
Clicking on the eye in a bottle behind the computer reveals what presumes to be an attempt at making the Interdimensional Portal in Atlantis.
After signing away a soul via "NAITSUAF," clicking the knob below the text box will reveal a backwards audio message that states "someone help, a murderer named, BILL" and "The sky is on fire, everything is burning, How would this happen? You killed us all, remember us." Otherwise, the knob will simply turn the screen to static.
There is faint text that reads "THE BOOK OF BILL" in the bottom left of the website, which redirects to the Barnes & Noble page for The Book of Bill. Similarly, there is a faint bar to adjust the site's volume in the bottom right.
Computer[]
The computer displays a spinning white prism on its monitor (similar to one seen in the shack), with the text "McGUCKET LABS" etched above it. Below the main computer is an additional section with a dial and large red button, as well as a long rectangular green display in which you can enter text. Clicking on this space and entering an invalid password will display a red "X" and buzzer sound.
In the upper left corner of the front wall, it's possible to see "VALLIS CINERIS" carved onto the wall when lightning illuminates the room and can be inserted into the Computer.
The remix of "Straight Blanchin'" from after the countdown was fixed.
A remix of "Straight Blanchin'", featuring audio clips of Soos and Wendy was the background music from the moment the countdown was fixed.
"I'll fix the website when my lunch is finished, dude".
Emmy Cicierega pitched a drawing in which Soos was eating a sandwich for lunch and would contain the words "I'll fix the website when my lunch is finished, dude", which would be shown in the time lapse before the countdown was fixed. However, it was discarded as it would have been "too frustrating".[3]
The website lists Pacifica's full name as "Pacifica Elisa Northwest". However, in "Northwest Manor Mystery", it's "Pacifica Elise Northwest".
When the room is fully "Mabelized", the stickers in the room form the constellation Scorpio.
When you type in the codes "THE GUN" and "OH YES THEY BOTH", the screen shows the responses: "Oh yes Oh yes Oh yes They both" and "Reached For". These codes are a reference to the 1975 musical Chicago, specifically the song "We Both Reached for the Gun".
During the "STOD EHT TCENNOC" pages, Emmaline Butternubbins says to her cat Bonbon, "Most people rejected Emmaline's message. They hated her because she told the truth." This is a reference to the "Most people rejected his message" internet meme.
In the rare "Alex hoax/Mickeyleaks11111" version of the "ALEX HIRSCH" code, the part about the Walt Disney Company quietly dissolving Alex's remains in a vat of turpentine, acetone, and benzine is a reference to the 1988 film Who Framed Roger Rabbit, where the villain, Judge Doom, dissolves living toons in a mixture of those things, known as "The Dip".
