The Great Flood of 1863 happened in 1863 upon the inauguration of the Northwest Manor. With the trees gone during the construction of the Manor, the mudslides around the Manor began under heavy rainfall. As the lead lumberjack of the Manor, Archibald Corduroy, demanded the lumberjacks' entry into the inaugural fest, he was swept away alongside the other lumberfolk who perished in the Great Flood. Their remains washed up at where the present Mystery Shack was built, where they would rise every month as the Undead.[1]
Before his demise, Archibald cursed the Northwest Family for turning back on their promise. When Ford Pines confronted a young Preston Northwest with the Northwests' misdeeds, his mention of the Great Flood caused Preston to panic and force him out from the Manor.[1]
