So I remember back when Gravity Falls was on air, Topdarlingwh pointed out to me that this is a fan name (i.e., played-by-ear guesswork) and not an official spelling. Closed captions call it Zanthar. Whether or not closed captioning is 100% correct, it should also be noted that it is an official source (used by Disney XD in its broadcasting, iTunes/Amazon Video/Google Play/Watch Disney XD, etc.) - unlike played-by-ear fanmade guesswork, so unless a higher ranking official source, such as an onscreen spelling, an official website, Alex Hirsch, Disney, or any other consider it like this, I think Zanthar is the name that should be stuck with. We've also experienced discrepancies with official sources, such as how Alex Hirsch tweeted that "A Tale of Two Stans" with capitalized O in of, so we stuck with that until Disney called it otherwise, so even if this has a possibility of being Xanthar and not Zanthar, it is an official source - which, as I've stated, is to be relied on to contradict any fanmade assumptions. Whether or not the people doing the captioning are from Disney XD is thus unimportant, as Disney XD uses these captions officially within its programming (thus can be taken as official) <font color="green">Pokémon</font><font color="skyblue">Gamer</font><u><font color="yellow">*</font></u> 03:31, July 28, 2017 (UTC)

Could the being whose name must never be said be a reference to Hastur (also known as Xastur), "Him Who Is Not to be Named" from the Lovecraftian mythology? Doctor Who (talk)

No, that is a common trope. Mr BKnew yourfather I did! 00:37, November 2, 2015 (UTC)

I was updating the other's gallery and I noticed Xanthar was the only demon without a gallery, besides that other demon. He fine without it? ~Vivi (talk) 07:19, November 25, 2015 (UTC)

Spelling

Whether or not the people doing the captioning are from Disney XD is thus unimportant, as Disney XD uses these captions officially within its programming (thus can be taken as official) PokémonGamer* 03:31, July 28, 2017 (UTC)
