Sacrifices for each other[]
Bill had a great point, Dipper have sacrifice things for Mabel and Mabel haven't paid back for Dipper. This episode finally that Mabel did it for him. I hope it will be more episodes that Mabel will do sacrifices for Dipper or save his life.

Homestar referance?[]
The puppet mayor giving puppet mabel a trophy is alot like a scene in the Strong Bad email "Crazy Cartoon". Where The Cheat makes a short flash cartoon with people giving him trophies for seemingly no reason. Matt Chapman left the Gravity Falls team a bit ago, so maybe they put that in as a little homage to him?
On another Matt Chapman, him leaving might be why Mermando was pushed aside without the propper closure you'd expect from the show (Matt Voices Mermando).
