Spelling[]
Many (including myself) have been writing the race's name as "Euclidean", but I recently noticed that the eye chart test on thisisnotawebsitedotcom (code BLIND EYE) spells it as "Euclydian". BUT, I double-checked another mention of the race's name (the code in TBOB on Bill's mugshots) and it IS spelled "Euclidean" there! I'm confused, lol. Not sure what, if anything, should be done about that, but figured it was worth bringing up. Personally, I lean towards "Euclydian" given it's an original word. - Is one name used more often than the other? We go with the more common spelling rather than make any judgement here. We only make a judgement jmif the spelling is more wildly inconsistent. I am also inclined to agree with "Euclydian" since "Euclidean" implies a relationship to Bill's father. Welcome to my INNERLMNT! 08:56, 12 December 2024 (UTC)
- As far as I can tell, those are the only two instances of the race's name anywhere in canon. I have Ctrl+F'd on both the TINAWDC cryptograms and TBOB cryptograms pages and found nothing more. CanisChiroptera (talk) 10:41, 12 December 2024 (UTC)
- but then there's the "Free Euclydia" morse code in the Lofi album. it's possible that Alex had intended for the race's name to be Euclydian in The Book of Bill, but it's likely that auto-correct occurred and it became "Euclidean" in the book. Indighost77 (talk) 19:41, 12 December 2024 (UTC)
- Oh yeah, the spelling of the actual planet(?) is consistently "Euclydia" in a bunch more places, it's just the adjective form that's inconsistent. Would totally buy the auto-correct theory, seems like an easy slip-up xD CanisChiroptera (talk) 21:06, 12 December 2024 (UTC)
