Abuelita[]
Abuelita is just spanish for grandma... it's not actually her name. Shouldn't this just be Soos' grandma? YazzyDream★
- Support — I definitely wanted to go with that but no one else seemed to care. I mean Soos' grandma is fine, well at least until someone can ask Alex her real name. Topdarlingwh (talk) 18:08, August 26, 2013 (UTC)
- Oppose — While it's true that abuelita and grandma are the same thing, they refered to her as "Abuelita," which is a bit less awkward-sounding than yet another conjectural title. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mf99k (wall • contribs)
- "Abuelita" is a conjectural title too. It MEANS "grandma." This is an English speaking wiki, and using the foreign word just because it's foreign feels... disrespectful. Like, we're using the word because it's "exotic" or whatever. "Abuelita" isn't her name, and I don't want to use it as such. YazzyDream★
- But we're not using it just because it's foreign. She's called Abuelita in the show. "It's in the name, son!: "Be Natural!" 23:10, November 16, 2014 (UTC)
- Oppose — I think the page should be "abuelita." Soos calls her Abuelita, and she insists Dipper does the same (in Gideon Rises). Peacexfreedom 01:24, December 8, 2014 (UTC)Peacexfreedom
- Oppose — it should be abuelita in my opinion.Hero Fan (talk) 16:20, January 31, 2015 (UTC)
Ramirez[]
Why does this page assume that her last name is Ramirez and that she's Soos' paternal grandmother? The cite says "Blendin's Game," but the episode suggests that she is Soos' maternal grandmother. Mr BKnew yourfather I did! 19:57, January 10, 2015 (UTC)
Ramirez is Spanish, which suggests that Soos took his mother's last name--a name he would share with his maternal grandparents. ICEHARD712 04:05, January 27, 2015 (UTC)
Rename[]
- Support — I think this page assumes way too much; not all women take their husband's last name, and it's especially likely Abuelita didn't because she didn't like him. Also, we're not totally sure that "Ramirez" was Soos' mother's last name and not his father's. Maybe Soos' dad's great-great-great grandfather was Latino and thus Soos' father's last name is a Spanish one even though he's not Spanish. This page was named on speculation, and thus it should be fixed as soon as possible. Mr BKnew yourfather I did! 23:29, January 31, 2015 (UTC)
