Smoke bombs are often used by Stan Pines in order to make quick escapes and act as a last minute distraction.
History[]
They first appear in the theme song, when Stan uses one to appear and greet Dipper and Mabel Pines.
Season 1[]
In "Headhunters," after Grunkle Stan passes off the "free pizza" information on his flyer for the grand unveiling of Wax Stan and then lies, claiming it was a typo, he uses a smoke bomb to escape from the scene of a brewing angry mob, and runs off with all the money collected from the event.
When Stan sees Gideon's lawyer in "Little Dipper," he uses one to make his getaway and hide his money, as he thinks the lawyer is a tax collector.
In "Summerween," he utilizes another in order to distract the angered cashier of the Summerween Superstore, who called security to eject the Pines family and Soos, and to avoid paying for the merchandise.
Shorts[]
During Stan's Mystery Shack advertisement, seen on "TV Shorts 1," he uses a smoke bomb, along with some poor scene editing, to make it seem as if the Mystery Shack appears behind him.
Season 2[]
In "The Stanchurian Candidate," Stan attempts to escape Tons grocery store with some stolen light bulbs, but throws down an expired smoke bomb.
Usage[]
Smoke bombs are simple to use: throw one on the ground, causing a cloud of grey smoke to emerge, and then run off.
