PINES 2016 is a song written by Neil Cicierega that was used as part of a promotional campaign song for Stan's election run in the episode "The Stanchurian Candidate" (though not used in the episode itself) and as a way to promote the episode itself.[1] The song is a sort of parody of the 1972 presidential campaign song "Nixon Now," by Ken Sutherland and the Mike Curb Congregation, with the music video using actual footage from the Nixon campaign song.[2]

Usage[]
Although not used in the show, the uploaded video of the song that Neil made was put onto the official Stan campaign website that was made to help promote the episode.[3]
The music video for the song includes old grainy stock footage and images from decades ago as well as Stan campaign images with a giant Pines 2016 watermark over them and the lyrics to the song appearing below.
For a while after The Stanchurian Candidate aired, the unlisted video could still be found via the campaign website (which is up too given it was reportedly bought by a fan). However in 2021 it went private due to an update to YouTube that privated all unlisted videos posted before 2017. However the song and video have since been recovered and reuploaded to YouTube by others. [4]
