All animation is black magic. This article contains information on a subject that is not considered canon in the Gravity Falls universe. |
Percepshrooms are a legendary type of mushroom found in the Gravity Falls Forest. When ground up into jelly and applied to the forehead overnight, they will make a person more intelligent. The same effect can be produced through consumption, but amplified. The journal warns not to eat it though.
History[]
Stan fabricates the existence of the Percepshrooms in "Abaconings," a story from "Little Gift Shop of Horrors." Dipper reads about them in his journal (using his black light to uncover the hidden passage), and locates them in the forest. Following the journal's instructions, he grinds them into jelly, and leaves the jelly overnight on his forehead as the journal instructed, but Waddles eats the jelly, gaining massive amounts of brain power instead.
Appearance[]
A Percepshroom is a pink, sparkling mushroom, with its cap having the appearance of a brain. When ground into jelly, it resembles sparkling pink goo.

Trivia[]
- The name "Percepshroom" is a portmanteau of "perception" and "mushroom."
- According to the real life Journal 3, there is no page detailing Percepshrooms, suggesting that Stan was telling the truth when he said he made up the story, and implying that either the Percepshrooms do not exist, or that its contents are actually in Journal 1, as Stan kept it hidden in his hidden laboratory for thirty years, so he likely read it multiple times. Stan likely only read the pages in Journal 3 that had information on the Interdimensional Portal.
