Patton Peter Oswalt (born January 27, 1969, in Portsmouth, Virginia) is an American comedian, writer, actor, and voice actor, notable for his role as Spence Olchin in The King of Queens. He provided the voice of Franz, a Lilliputtian leader in the Gravity Falls episode "The Golf War."

Early life

Oswalt was born January 27, 1969, in  Virginia Portsmouth, Virginia, to Carla (née Runfola) and Larry J. Oswalt, a career  States Marine Corps United States Marine Corps officer. He was named after General  S. Patton George S. Patton. He has one younger brother, Matt Oswalt, a comedy writer best known for the YouTube web series "Puddin'." While a  brat (U.S. subculture) military brat, his family later lived in Ohio and Tustin, California, before settling in Sterling, Virginia. He is a 1987 graduate of Broad Run High School in Ashburn, Virginia and subsequently graduated from the College of William and Mary, where he majored in English[10] and was initiated into the Alpha Theta Chapter of the  Kappa Tau Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity.
