Other work

Matt, alongside his brother Mike Chapman, created the popular animated web series Homestar Runner. The two brothers (known as The Brothers Chaps) write and animate the cartoons together and Matt does the vast majority of the voices, including Strongbad, one of the major ones. The site was updated almost every week since 2001, until updates slowed down around 2007 when The Brothers Chaps had children, and eventually halted almost completely in 2009. Holiday cartoons were posted in December 2010, and Matt insisted on his Twitter that another cartoon is being worked on.

However, a new April Fools animation was uploaded on the site on April 1, 2014, as a test to gauge audience engagement in the series.[4]

Eventually in July 2014, Matt Chapman confirmed in an interview that he, along with Mike Chapman were planning on updating the site more regularly starting supposedly in fall of that year, thanks to the positive reception of the "April Fools" cartoon.[5]

Updates started occurring more frequently in October 2014, starting with a new "Powered By The Cheat" video.[6]

Matt also writes and directs for Yo Gabba Gabba! on Nick Jr., and writes, directs, and acts for The AquaBats Super Show! on The Hub, by the same production company.

He is presently developing his own show for Disney Channel, and has written the screenplay for Monster Safari, an upcoming stop-motion feature for The Jim Henson Co.

He is also a writer for Wander Over Yonder, another Disney cartoon.

Early life

Matt was born in Indiana, and made many movies,[7] audio shows,[7] and games[8] with his brother and their friends throughout their childhood. Matt graduated from Florida State University Film School. He is married to Jackie Chapman and has two children.
