Matthew "Matt" Chapman (born on November 1, 1976)[1] is a writer and voice actor who worked on the first two seasons of Gravity Falls. Among others, he voiced Mermando, and wrote many of the Dipper's Guide to the Unexplained shorts.[2] He left the Gravity Falls crew in July 2014 to return to his work on Homestar Runner with his brother Mike Chapman.[3]
Matt is also known for his work on the Flash webtoon Homestar Runner, where he was the primary voice actor. During a hiatus from the webtoon, he worked on Gravity Falls. He also voiced Alfonzo in Star vs. The Forces of Evil, Tritonio Espada in Amphibia, and Steve and Harvey Park in The Owl House.

Early life[]
Born in Indiana, Matt has spent much of his life in Georgia; he temporarily moved to Los Angeles for his time working on Gravity Falls and other Disney projects.[4] He made many movies,[5] audio shows,[5] and games[6] with his brother and their friends throughout their childhood, continuing to collaborate with his older brother Mike through the present day. Matt graduated from Florida State University Film School in 1998.[7] He is married to Jackie Chapman and has two children.
