Mabelsaidshedmakemeawebsite.com (or Pines 2016) is a fake election campaign website made by Mabel for Grunkle Stan, created by The Mystery of Gravity Falls to help in the promotion of the episode "The Stanchurian Candidate." It was launched on August 22, 2015 and served as an in real-life campaign tool for Stan, as candidate for the mayor of Gravity Falls. Due to the fact the episode released in 2015, a year prior to the real 2016 US presidential election, the campaign is referred to as Pines 2016, rather than Pines 2012.

The website was first hinted at in a tweet by The Mystery of Gravity Falls on August 22, 2015, stating Mabel needs to learn HTML.[1]
Site appearance[]
The website is very basically designed. It has a small area where information is located with the background having a repeating American flag image. The top of the site has a "Pines 2016" logo with a "VOTE FOR STAN" button and another "VOTE FOR STAN" sign on the right. Below are 4 buttons that lead to various pages on the site and then below that is banner that reads "***VOTE FOR STAN PINES 2K016!!!!!***" Below that is then whatever information the respective page is about.

The home page of the site has a simple layout with a statement from Mabel written on it. It states, "I MADE THIS SITE FOR MY GRUNKLE STAN TO HELP HIM WITH THE ELECTION TO BECOME MAYOR IN GRAVITY FALLS. I HOPE YOU LIKE IT!" On the left of the page is a section showing the Twitter feed from the StanPines4Mayor Twitter account. Each page contains a background song that plays while you are on the page. On this page, the song's file is called Dreambig.mp3.

The Videos page contains links to two different videos, with the description, "THESE ARE REALLY GREAT VIDEOS THAT YOU SHOULD WATCH. VOTE STAN PINES FOR MAYOR OF GRAVITY FALLS."
The first video is of the Disney XD promo for the episode, while the other is a link to the song Pines 2016, created by Neil Cicierega. Neil's song is a sort of parody of the 1972 presidential campaign song "Nixon Now," by Ken Sutherland and the Mike Curb Congregation, with the music video using actual footage from the Nixon campaign song.[2] The video was unlisted on his channel and could be viewed through the website. However in 2021, it went private due to an update to YouTube that privated all unlisted videos posted before 2017. However the song and video have since been recovered and reuploaded to YouTube by others.[3]

On this page, the song that plays in the background is called Putthisinthereformysweetie.mp3, which is simply audio of Stan yelling, "BUY MORE KEYCHAINS," that was heard in "Boyz Crazy."

The Waddles page simply has an image of Waddles from "Land Before Swine," that has the following caption, "Don't make Waddles sad. Vote for Grunkle Stan for mayor of Gravity Falls!!!!!!"

Aftermath[]
Since the airing of the episode, the website has been all but abandoned and forgotten about. While various other websites related to the show have either shut down or broken over the years, this site remains up and intact as it was in 2015. The website is currently owned and operated by The Mystery of Gravity Falls, a well known fan and figure in the community who runs a fan website of the same name and The Mystery Shack online store.[1]

- This and the StanPines4Mayor page were used to help promote "The Stanchurian Candidate."
- If taken as canon, this implies that both Soos and Mabel know how to program in HTML.
- Although the episode and Gravity Falls as a whole is accepted to be set in 2012, the site refers to Stan's campaign as Pines 2016. This is likely due to the fact that around the time the episode aired, the 2016 US Presidential election campaign had begun and this was made to help keep current with real political events.
