Welcome to this Forum Page

Many articles here are not named officially like 'Lil Gideon and Grunkle Stan, I suggest we have a discussion about these articles and then have a vote. Perhaps we can also outline voting guidelines, I would suggest something temporary like 100 edits and 1 month, and then raise it to 250 edits and 3 months. Tuckyd! Says Hi 22:39, July 20, 2012 (UTC)

Discussion

If you ask me, 100 edits and one month are too steep requirements. Perhaps cut that in half, to 50 edits and two weeks or something like that? A Light Shining in the Darkness - Talk - Dancing Shadows 00:00, July 22, 2012 (UTC)

I believe since everyone calls them by those names, it seems fitting. Besides most people would search for them like that. And I don't care too much about the voting thing, although with this wiki's growth several people will soon make that mark. JAZ!!! [Talk to me] 21:16, July 22, 2012 (UTC)

I think that articles should be officially named with redirects left behind for their nicknames. This would allow clarification to many user questions. We should also keep the nickname mention at the beginning of the page such as-

Gideon Charles Gleeful more often know as 'Lil Gideon is a psychic. like how it is now

As Jazatz2 said, these are the names people will search for. Hardly anyone is going to search for Gideon Charles Gleeful or even Gideon Gleeful. They're just gonna be looking for Lil Gideon. Those are there official characters titles; that is what they are called most often; that is what appears in the episode credits. My vote is to leave it as is.  KataraFan☮   wall    contribs

I feel the sentient here is against me so why not we change the discussion more focusing on voting processes. --Tuckyd! Says Hi 19:14, July 23, 2012 (UTC)

Manl(e)y Dan

There seems to be disagreement on how to title Manl(e)y Dan's page. In Disney's press release, they call him Manly Dan (see here). However, in the show itself, it is spelled Manley Dan (see here). I, personally, feel that the in-show spelling trumps the press release as being more canon. It seems more likely that a Disney employee misspelled his name than an animator on the show did.
Edit: KataraFan pointed out that it is spelled Manly Dan in the credits. I double-checked and it is indeed spelled that way in Headhunters' credits.  EvergreenFir  19:48, July 24, 2012 (UTC)

Voting Discussion

Manley Dan instead of Manly Dan

Support: Reasons listed above.  EvergreenFir  18:01, July 24, 2012 (UTC)
Oppose: In the episode credits and everywhere else, his name is listed as Manly Dan, so I think we should keep it as that.  KataraFan☮   wall    contribs

Never noticed the credits before. Will add to the above post.  EvergreenFir  19:47, July 24, 2012 (UTC)
Oppose: I agree with the above. I was the one that changed Manly Dan's name in the first place but my edit was reverted. --TDIFan13 (My Talk and My Contributions) 05:11, July 25, 2012 (UTC)
Oppose: ever thought that dipper could have misspelled it. Look at the other names, for example Lazy Susan is called suzie. Also I stand by the credits.--Tuckyd! Says Hi 06:28, July 25, 2012 (UTC)
Oppose:Overwhelming evidence obviously suggests that it's Manly Dan. 10:20, July 25, 2012 (UTC)
