Floating Eyeballs are creatures detailed in Journal 3. They are visible during the night only, appearing as glowing yellow orbs with black pupils. Despite the pencil drawing, the book's text indicates that they have no retinal cord. On their page in Journal 3, "does not respond to contact" and "spooky" have been crossed out. Journal 3 also says that they "watch" you, indicating that they can move. They were pictured in "Tourist Trapped," and appeared in the "Fright Night" online game. However, a glass jar containing what could possibly be the eyeballs are shown in the opening theme. |

History
At some point before the events of the series, Ford Pines came across and studied the creatures, recording their power, appearance and weaknesses in Journal 3.
Season 1
In "Tourist Trapped," when Dipper is going through some of Journal 3's pages, their entry is briefly seen.
In "Land Before Swine" after Soos kills the fairy, their entry page in Journal 3 is seen once again.
Season 2
In "Scary-oke" under a black light, further information is revealed in invisible ink. The page is now titled "Floating Nonsense". It says "I was wrong to worry about these things! They are nonconsequential!" and "Pepper spray makes 'em go away!!!" The eyes in the top right corner of the page are now crossed out.
In "Weirdmageddon 2: Escape From Reality," the page for the floating eyeballs in Journal 3 is shown when Bill's eye flashes through the journal's pages.
Appearance
As their name implies, they're floating eyeballs. As written in Journal 3, they have no retinal cord. In the upper left picture in Journal 3, they appear to be eyeballs with veins and retinal cords. In the lower right corner, they appear to be bright eyes on a dark background, possibly glowing in the dark.
