The Flavor Pups are the mascots of Smile Dip.

History

Season 1

In Mabel's hallucination in "The Inconveniencing," it appears one of the Flavor Pups only makes incomprehensible noises, though when played backward you can make out the words, "Must distrust grunkle." The larger Flavor Pup can speak English and asks Mabel if she'd like to eat one of his candy paws, suggesting that the dogs are made of candy. However, this was a part of Mabel's hallucinations, as she was chewing on thin air.

Shorts

In "Mabel's Scrapbook: Heist Movie," when Dipper edits the list of movies in an attempt to distract Thompson, one of the movies listed is "Flavor Pups: The Movie."

In "Mabel's Scrapbook: Petting Zoo," one of the images Mabel flips past is her eating Smile Dip from "The Inconveniencing." The Flavor Pups are visible on the package in her hand.

In "Weirdmageddon 2: Escape From Reality," one of them is seen in Mabeland.

Journal 3

Mabel writes on her experience with Smile Dip in "The Inconveniencing" on June 14th. Mabel calls the dogs "Devil-Dogs" and that they still haunt her, assumingly referring to her nightmares.

The Book of Bill

On the page about the recent inpatients to Ward 333 at the Theraprism, one of the flavor pups', specifically the one who first spoke to Mabel in reverse, name is revealed to be "The Beast." The Beast is, along with Bill, in Max Security surveillance meaning The Beast could possibly be as strong as Bill Cipher.

Appearance

The Flavor Pups are the large yellow dogs with pink noses and light blue eyes. They both wear purple collars, but the larger Flavor Pup, Smiley McDoggington also wears a purple bow tie and has eyelashes. The larger Flavor Pup also has a more fluffy tail than the smaller Flavor Pup and he doesn't stick his tongue out unlike the other. The larger Flavor Pup also has a larger hair tuft on his head than the other and no noticeable whiskers.

• On the package, the smaller Flavor Pup has a light blue collar, but in the Astral Plane, they both have purple collars.
• In PigPig Waddles Bounce Ultra, the larger dog is named Smiley McDoggington.
• "Must distrust grunkle" could refer to several tricks or secrets Stan Pines has pulled or kept throughout the series.
• In a page depicting mugshots of some of the Theraprism's patients, the smaller Flavor Pup is shown, being given the name "The Beast". As said Flavor Pup is the only other prisoner than Bill Cipher to be placed under maximum surveillance, it could be as strong or even more powerful than Bill, seeing as beings stronger than him do exist.
  • This could imply that the larger Flavor Pup is also an extradimensional being which can be summoned by consuming Smile Dip, meaning he may be the overarching antagonist of another "unrelated-sucker" universe.
