Being a new show, Gravity Falls had a shared panel for the 2012 SDCC on July 14th with other Disney TVA shows such as Fish Hooks, and Wander Over Yonder.[1] There is not much footage out there of the event or what happened, however, a short clip of the Q&A session with Alex answering questions does exist.[2] During the panel, Alex and the cast and crew in attendance talked about the series, showed a never before seen trailer and a scene from the then upcoming episode, "The Time Traveler's Pig." The trailer shown was previously lost but was refound (however an HD copy of it has never been released). The trailer contained a different take for a line of Mabel's from "Double Dipper" and scenes in which Alex voiced the twins instead of Jason and Kristen. Official Comic Con Description...

Gravity Falls had its own panel for the 2013 SDCC. During this panel, the cast and crew discussed the show, did a live reading and answered fan questions. As the season finale was upcoming, the attendees of the panel got to see the cold open for "Gideon Rises" prior to its premiere. 2015 SDCC[]

Gravity Falls' final SDCC panel took place on July 9th. During the panel as before, the cast and crew answered questions about the show and revealed the trailer for the second half of season 2 in the lead up to the premiere. Alex and the cast also would later sign posters and books. Official Comic Con Description...

Other SDCC Events[]

Although Gravity Falls never had another full SDCC panel due to it ending, Alex Hirsch and other crew members did hold various signing events for merchandise for the show during other Comic Cons. In 2016, Alex held a signing event where fans who purchased Journal 3 could get it signed by him. Him and Dana Terrace would hold another event at the 2018 SDCC where fans could get their copies of Lost Legends signed by them.

New York Comic Con[]

2014 NYCC[]

Although Gravity Falls had no panels at it, during the 2014 NYCC, when the first iteration of The Wikia Fantasy Food Truck was launched, Smile Dip would be sold from it, as it not only made the finalist round for the event, but won it as well.

2015 NYCC[]

Alex and the Gravity Falls crew appeared at the 2015 NYCC to discuss the series prior to the announcement of it ending. During it, Alex revealed that a real life version of Journal 3 was being developed and would be releasing the following summer.

The Wikia Fantasy Food Truck returned for the 2nd year in a row, this time serving Mabel Juice, as it made the finalist round of the poll, securing its place on the truck.

2016 NYCC[]

Gravity Falls' final official Comic Con appearance would be at the 2016 NYCC, where Alex Hirsch and the team behind Journal 3 would discuss the work behind the book and shared various scrapped pages from it. Additionally, Alex announced that a special edition of the Journal was being developed that would have blacklight pages in it and be as close to the in show Journal as possible. Originally planned to have 1,000 made, it was eventually increased to 10,000 due to high demand.

The Wikia Fantasy Food Truck returned for the 3rd and final time as well, with Pitt Cola winning and being sold at the event.

Other Conventions[]

2017 Momocon[]

In May 2017, The Mystery of GF held a panel during which he shared various deleted scenes from the series. Alongside that, he held a Q&A via videocall with Alex Hirsch, during which attendees could ask him questions. During it, he revealed various things like how Disney almost didn't let them use the song "We'll Meet Again," in the finale and hinted at his hopes for a Gravity Falls comic book, which would be fulfilled 2 months later with the announcement of Lost Legends. 2017 D23[]

During D23 in 2017, Gravity Falls had a shared panel with Star vs. the Forces of Evil. During the panel, Alex Hirsch and Star creator Daron Nefcy discussed work on their shows and creating bestselling books for each of them. During the panel, Alex also revealed that there was going to be a Gravity Falls graphic novel and that he was currently writing stories for it. The graphic novel would release the following year on July 24, 2018. He showcased an announcement drawing made by fan artist and illustrator in the book, Kiki-Kit and encouraged fans to start saving up for it. Later him and Daron held a drawing contest where attendees could request drawings for them to draw while they answered questions.
