Gravity Falls is a television series which was created under the jurisdiction of the Walt Disney Company and the United States. Due to stricter guidelines and laws in other countries, the show has been subject to censorship in order to avoid complaints from parents who may claim inappropriate content in the series.
One of the most notable acts of censorship is the removal of the symbol on Stan Pines's fez from the episode "Tourist Trapped" to the episode "Boss Mabel", which depicted a crescent moon with a fish tail. The symbol bears striking resemblance to the symbol of the Shriners, an American masonic society which tends to use religion-inspired iconography. This iconography has been intrepreted as religiously offensive by various international Disney feeds.
The series's first season is only mildly censored overseas whereas its second season was more heavily censored due to the increased frequency of relatively graphic visuals, depictions of death, and the discussion of heavier themes. International Disney Channels generally tended to remove violence, mildly rude and offensive language, references to death, vandalism, reckless actions, and behaviors deemed too inappropriate or too unethical for young viewers to imitate. Meanwhile, international Disney XD feeds aired Gravity Falls uncensored since they targeted an audience of preteens aged 9-12 years old.

- During the opening scene, in which Dipper and Wendy are making fun of Stan over the CCTV Camera, the words "my butt" were omitted, causing part of the clip to go completely silent for a few seconds.
- Dipper's line, "Alright Robbie, I saw that weird CD. What the heck are you up to?" was shortened to, "Alright Robbie, I saw that weird CD. What are you up to?"
- Candy's line, "I welcome you death." was muted.
- Chubby Z.'s line, "What do we do?" along with Deep Chris's subsequent "Aw dang!" was cut.
- Robbie's line "Am I! Later, dorks. Catch ya on the rewind." was muted and shortened to, "Am I! Later. Catch ya on the rewind."
- Stan's line, "Holy mackerel! Now there's your spit-take!" was muted and shortened to, "Mackerel! Now there's your spit-take!"
- The entire scene where Greggy C. stuffs dispenser into mouth and starts choking on it was cut.
