BABBA is an Icelandic pop band. Dipper Pines often listens to their song "Disco Girl."

History[]

At one point in time, they released a song entitled "Disco Girl" that was an American Top 40 hit.

Stan discovered Dipper singing this song sometime before the events of "Dipper vs. Manliness." Later, when Dipper was about to "become a man" by killing the Multi-Bear for the Manotaurs, he discovered that the Multi-Bear also liked the song and decided to go against the Leaderaur's order because of it.

In "Land Before Swine", during Stan's story about how Waddles was captured by the Pterodactyl, the "Disco Girl" CD fell out of a trash can that Stan clashed against.

In "The Last Mabelcorn", when Ford was encrypting Dipper's thoughts, some lyrics from "Disco Girl" were on the screen.

In The Book of Bill, one of Ford's sketches in Journal 3's lost pages depict him singing Disco Girl on karaoke with Bill while partying in the mindscape.

In 2021, as part of the promotional material for the Gravity Falls Vinyl soundtrack, iam8bit released the full version of Disco Girl on a website called dipperssecretshame (Password: MasonPines).^[1]
