What's on your mind?
Someone vandalized Stan's page, replacing information and Templates with a link to Tourist Trapped. can something fix it.
Also, that reddit used as a source for Stan being born in 1945 is not a good source. The person who written the post didn't believe Stan alleged year of birth and ask for a source to prove it.
I know there's already a page for this, but I did exactly what's written there and all that shows up is plain text. I don't know if it's a problem with the site or if I'm just not doing it right, but does anyone know how to solve this?
On the Gravity Falls wiki, it says that Q,X, and Z are currently unknown. But on the Mystery of Gravity Falls website, go to strange symbols and you will see to keys: the author's cipher on the left and Bill's cipher on the right. on the key Q, X, and Z are filled in.
Hi guys! So what would you say if I were to suggest more Article Criteria? Say, that a character can get a page if it is named? In addition to this, if an unnamed character had at least two quotes, and appeared in at least 5-7 episodes, it also deserves an article?
These are just suggestions. Having a lot of pages isn't a bad thing, but I feel this criteria would trim off the unnecessary short articles for several background characters, leaving the majority of the pages with much information untouched.
Let me know your thoughts!
Not sure if this is the thing I'm supposed to post in, but....
So, in the profile it states that Time Baby's size is roughly that of a small building.
However, as revealed in the official Journal 3, Time Baby drinks out of a bottle the size of a skyscraper.
This should make Time Baby roughly the size of a skyscraper since he is comparable to the size of his bottle (if not taller), so shouldn't this be corrected?
In the Gravity Falls wiki, it claims that The Axolotl's power is ranked massively beyond characters like Bill Cipher, The Time Baby, etc.... and while I can sort of understand The Time Baby (As the Axolotl was worshipped by the aliens who's Adhesive was the only thing that could prevent weirdmageddon which likely makes The Axolotl stronger than The Time baby), there is no evidence to suggest that Bill Cipher and The Axolotl are even comparable in power considering the fact that Bill one-shotted the Time Baby. So, I think we should argue that The Axolotl should likely be considered superior to the time baby, just not bill.
It has been almost 2 years after the release of Gravity Falls: Journal 3, and there is an article about it.
But I see there's a problem: in the book, there are more detailed plot about the series regarding some of the episode. Even that some of the contents are added to existing episodes or other articles, they don't seem to be organized and, in Gravity Falls: Journal 3 article itself, there are more about decoding and official synopsis.
For example, in the beginning of the journal, there are magical creatures and how Ford met Bill Cipher, and then Mystery Twin's discovery and their daily life, and then Ford's travel through dimensions, and lastly the epilogue. The journal describes the same thing in slightly different view, and there should be some place to view them at once, but not currently in the article about it. And, to be honest, I see that Gravity Falls: Lost Legends will be faced with the same problem (or is this wiki too inactive to have big changes?)
So, I don't know, comparing to the canon episodes, is it appropriate to add the content (especially detailed plot) to this wiki? And how can I supposed to do that? In each episodes? Characters? The book? I can't tell which place is the best place for them.
I mean, really. It's not the screencap from Headhunters. It's something that doesn't belong here. Someone here needs to be reported, and someone needs to fix this issue.
The lyrics in this are pretty off.
Starting at about 2:50 in https://soundcloud.com/bradbreeck/gravity-falls-e207-society-of-the-blind-eye-full-score, the lyrics are:
Am I blanchin', girl we blanchin'. I live up in a mansion. (Are you blanchin'?) Girl, I'm blanchin'! I live up in a mansion! Can I please have your attention? (Huh?) 'Cause you know we straight blanchin'. Can I please have your attention? (Okay?) You know we straight blanchin'!
It goes on from there, but basically, the lyrics are different.
If there's a specific image that you'd like for an article or otherwise and it's missing from our episode galleries, feel free to make a request here. Either myself or someone else will get around to it.
Be sure to mention the episode and if possible the rough timestamp. Be as specific as you can.
tbqh I dislike that one bg that only goes across the top. If we're sticking with a green bg, the one with the photos is my preferred choice.
However, if people dislike it, it can easily be reverted. Let me know.
I'm trying to find out WHO is the creator of this wiki! It's driving me insane! T_T
Does anyone by chance have any idea who this guy is??
If anyone has any awnsers post on this thread as soon as possible!
I think we ought to enact some actual rules defining exactly what "corrupt" is and what we can do about it. This guessing game is not working, as everytime someone wants a vote, they get it, and then we split over the same issue we've been splitting over three times already.
I've made some sample rules here. Read them and tell me if you agree.
First, let's try and define "abuse of power"
An abuse of power is:
- An admin neglecting to hear an overwhelming voice in the community.
- This is not an admin doing something without holding a vote. This is an admin refusing to undo an action after the community holds a vote (which follows the rules of voting, being a week long, etc.) requesting that action. Note that the vote must indicate a general consensus for an admin to be obliged to do something. If the vote is tipped by only a couple of users, the admin still holds the right to upheld its previous decision as it sees fit.
- An admin always has the right to hold full power over votes in minor decisions such as renames, image changes and page creations and deletions.
After all, we elected them to be reasonable and know when to use their executive powers.
Now, on voting for big things like admins, demotions and big wiki changes (such as locking of pages, etc.)
- A vote must indicate a general consensus. I would say at least two thirds of the votes be in favor for the action to be taken. Also, enough users must participate. I would say not a specific number, but enough prominent users to represent the wikia. A vote with three users voting is not valid.
- The vote must be at least a week long.
- Only users with 100 edits or more may vote.
- When presenting reasons for demotion, a specific reason must be given, with appropriate links to the incident. "Abuse of power" is not specific.
- If a motion does not pass, we must wait a certain amount of time (I'm thinking six months?) before we attempt the motion again with the same evidence. So, if someone tries to demote an admin because the admin is locking pages without the community vote and the community votes no on demotion, another vote cannot be held even if the admin continues to lock pages. However, if the admin starts banning random users without cause, we can hold another vote with this as evidence.
Please reply with some suggestions to these rules, other rules we should have that I might have missed, or whether you think we should have these at all. This isn't a voting thread; if this gets enough support, we may make one with revised rules.
Hi, I see you have had a lot of drama recently. I've been asked to call in and try to settle a few points.
Firstly, I don't consider any of this to be a staff issue as such. I'm glad to help out, but it's going to have to be the community that calms things down and works together again.
On votes: there is no one perfect way of doing them, but a common way (and really the traditional way for wikis) is that there needs to be a consensus for any major change. That means "general agreement", and not just a straight count of the votes. On something like an admin vote, I would always like to see a strong agreement - not just a win by one or two votes. There really needs to be more enthusiasm than that for a new admin!
A blog asking for admin/bureaucrat resignations is also valid. That’s the way the community can express their unhappiness about admin decisions (after talking to the person in question to try and resolve issues first of course).
However, three votes in such a short time is not reasonable. You can’t keep having votes on the same thing until you get the result you want! I would expect significant time to pass before a demotion conversation was repeated - maybe even a year or more.
Overall, this is a good community but it needs these arguments to calm down and everyone to go back to improving the wiki. That's what we are here for after all.
This is just a small thing I noticed: Since Stan and Ford are twins, shouldn't they be the exact same age? I noticed that on Stan's page, his age is 59, but for Ford's page, it just says he's in his 60's. Shouldn't this be changed?
Thanks to Ditto Creeper Bot, we're now getting a Chat Bot for the Mystery Shack Secret Chatroom! Here's the approval and first discussion thread for anyone who's curious: Chat Bot for Gravity Falls Wiki Discussion thread
The only thing left to do while Ditto sends in the application is figure out a name for the new bot. Any and all suggestions are welcome!
Just be sure the name is appropriate, and preferably Gravity Falls related. On the original thread some of the ideas we came up with were Pacifibot, Grunkle Bot, and Bot Cipher. However you can suggest whatever you'd like!
Note: We'll close the thread once we find a name we all can agree on and finalize it
I am filing an Application for the Hosting of a Chat Bot, The bot would include only features like:-
- Chat Logging (Recording chatroom)
- Seen and Tell Function to know when they were there
- (If you would like that Youtube info Option, please vote)
I need this as an approval discussion, most of the glorious Admins have accepted my request but the problem is that I need to have a link for the discussion. Please State your reason why we shouldn't have one because a Bot can prove beneficial at the time of a troll or Spammer.
Since I would like to keep chat calm, and some people get uncomfortable about it, I made this as a place to talk about it. Stay civil, and do not vote here, just show your opinion.
