WARNING: SPOILERS FOR STRANGER THINGS (and of course Gravity Falls)

I have heard this song in shows/movies three times. Every time has two factors attributed to it: The End of The World, and Strangeness.
First time I heard it: The movie Dr. Strangelove, which is about the dangers of atomic bombs and the end of the world. One of the main characters is a former Nazi from Operation Paperclip named - you guessed it - Doctor Strangelove.
End of The World - Check (World War Three, Nuclear Fallout, etc.)
Strangeness - Check (IT'S IN HIS NAME!)
Second time I heard it: The Netflix original series Stranger Things. It follows the adventures of some kids from the 1980s who fight terrifying monsters and uncover conspiracies. Wait a minute-
End of The World - Check (Well, it's not exactly this, but the Mind Flayer wants to destroy all, or at least most humans)
Strangeness - Check (AGAIN, IN THE NAME! Also the series is pretty sci-fi-y. In other news, I don't know what grammar is.)
Third time I heard it: By the time I heard it in this context, it was my favorite song. I listened to it so much my parents threatened to take away my YouTube access to get me to stop. So when Bill shows up, playing this on his piano and singing along, I started laughing so hard I cried.
End of The World - Check (Weirdmaggedon. Armageddon, but weirder.)
Strangeness - Check (*laughs hysterically and can't actually say anything*)
Do you think I'm onto something, or just going insane? I like feedback.
